Man has a lust for success and power. These two things drive
him madly. Without these two things man think himself to be insecure.
Vulnerabilities and Insecurities, These are the delinquencies that make us
human, helping us to relate to the billions of people in world and not become,
as Tyrell Wellick , the interim CTO of E Corp says, “a cold robot.
Episode starts with Tyrell who is jogging and practicing for
his meeting with CEO of E Corp. He is very eager for his interview as he thinks
that his promotion will be confirmed and he will be the youngest CTO of this
company. But when he reaches for his meeting, CEO of company tells him that
they have a very good candidate for the post. Tyrell becomes disappointed. He
pays $300 to a homeless person under the bridge and try to calm himself by
beating that person.
Elliot is lying in bed in hospital with lesions on his face
and hands. These are the effects of a ten foot fall. He stares at a bee buzzing
around his room and hence here comes the monologue of the episode which is nature
of bug.
Elliot continues to ruminate on bugs: “A bug’s only reason
for existence is to be a mistake that needs fixing. To help you right a wrong,
and what feels better than that. Most coders think debugging software is about
fixing a mistake,” Elliot says. “But that is bullshit … its existence was no
accident. It came to you to deliver a message. Like an unconscious bubble
floating to the service. Popping with a revelation you’ve secretly known all
along … A bug buzzing its way towards me, to gum up the works, until it forces
me to make a call — kill me, or embrace me.”
When Elliot wakes he finds Dr. Gordon and Shyla staring at
him. He don’t remember calling both of them in unconsciousness. Dr. Gordon
makes him aware of the fact that hospital authority will only discharge him
when Dr. recommends. Dr says that she will recommend in case if he submit his
bimonthly drug report which should be negative.
However, the pledge is a canard — Elliot chose this hospital
as his primary care facility because its cybersecurity department is poorly
staffed and funded, which make its records easy to hack and manipulate. So
Elliot says that he is ok with this.
He goes with Shayla to their apartment building where he
finds Darlene , a member of FSociety, has broken into his apartment. Holding up
the busted lock, she tells Elliot they have a lot to discuss before he kicks
her out. “I suggest you get a grip,” she says.
Angela is jogging where she notices that a man’s wallet is
dropped. She returns the wallet in the mean time a lady comes who tells that wallet
belongs to her which she has given to a thief. She comes to home and tells his
boyfriend about the scene.He says that you’re too good for the world. That’s
probably the reason why he loves her. She then goes to take bath.
Giodeon summons Angela, her boyfriend and Elliot and invites
them to a party at his home.Elliot refuses saying he already has a plan for
tonight.Giodeon talks to him alone and asks him reason.Elliot says that no one
has a right to discuss his personal life.saying this he leaves his room.In the
office he finds Mr.Robot who is waiting for him.He asks him to go to the bar
and have a drink.He orders Appletini. He asks him about the plan.Mr robot says
that you are the key without you its all over.
Mr robot now feels free. He considers himself to be normal. In
a low tone he says “I’ll never slip up like that again. I’m going to be more
normal now. Maybe Shayla could even be my girlfriend. I’ll go see those stupid Marvel
movies with her. I’ll join a gym. I’ll heart things on Instagram. I’ll drink
vanilla-chai lattes .He goes to watch Marvel movies in cinemas with shlya. He
goes to office and asks his boss about the dinner. Gioden says that plan is on.
He asks to bring his girlfriend. Gioden asks if he has a girlfriend. He says
that he has not asked shyla about that but hopes that she will agree.
At the party, Angela and Elliot reminisce how they used to
“run” away together, imitating Claudia Kincaid and From the Mixed-Up Files
of Basil E. Frankweiler — “Somehow when you are 8, running away can be
fun,” she says — when Elliot receives an alert.” FSociety’s data dump reveals
emails confirming that Evil Corp knew about and covered up the toxic-waste
scandal” that led to the deaths of both Elliot’s father and Angela’s mother
(how the two initially met as children and why they are best friends). “My
perfect maze, crumbling before my eyes,” Elliot says. “Mr. Robot finally found
my bug.”
Tyrell has sex with Anwar (secretary of CEO) who tells him
he’s a strange creature. He says he’s just a businessman. Anwar goes and starts
the shower and Tyrell goes through his things. He clones his cell phone quickly
and installs an app.
Angela comes
home and finds Ollie pacing. She says she went to see Elliot but he wasn’t
home. Ollie is annoyed but she says they know each other because both their
parents died the same way. She says she doesn’t want to talk about it but he
says he wants to talk about something. He tells him everything about the hack (which
the rapper has done through his CD) and his affair. She says that she wants
break up. He says he knows he has a problem and she says she can’t be with a
guy with his problem. She asks for the CD.
She says the
guy has her bank account and her dad’s bank account, social security number and
everything. He says the cops will figure it out. She says they can’t go to the
cops. She says you can’t come back from massive identity theft like this. He
says they can’t just infect Allsafe’s network because he’ll lose his job. She
says it’s all about him. He says she’ll lose her job too.
He says even
if they put the CD in, the guy might do it anyway. He says they’ll figure it
out. She says she’s just scared and then says she doesn’t want to break up with
him. He hugs her and he says he loves her. Gideon is at work looking at some
info on Colby’s arrest and makes a call about the server. Tyrell comes home and
finds his pregnant wife wants to be tied up for sex.
He says he’s tired but she doesn’t care. He ties her up and
they talk about the new CTO candidate. She wants to make a move since they
don’t have a lot of time. She wants him to put a ball gag in her mouth and he
does but is unsure it’s safe since she’s pregnant. Elliot goes to Coney Island
to the hacker place. Darlene is there and so is Mr Robot. He takes a seat at
and pulls out a computer. People gather round to watch him work. He shows them
the plan to take out Steel Mountain.
